Mini Monets UK Ltd is run and founded in April 2013 by Debra Franses Bean.
She is a Qualified professional artist, DBS Checked, Child protection trained and experienced teacher and dog lover - Teddy often attends Mini Monets!
Debra Franses-Bean is internationally known for her art practice of ARTBAG which she founded whilst graduating from Central Saint Martins art school in London.
Initially, she wanted to help develop her son's imagination and creative skills as she felt that the school curriculum didn't offer enough time to do this important task.
Mini Monets art school has now moved 4 times and is opening in January 2020 in the in the prestigious Market Hall in Old Amersham. This Grade II* listed building was built in 1682 by Sir William Drake as a gift for the townsfolk and is decorated with his arms and the initials WD. It was intended for the upper floor to be used for meetings, such as those for traders’ guilds, and the ground floor as a market.
Every year Mini Monets host a magnificent end of year art exhibition and garden party for the families of the students which gives the children the opportunity to show their work to a high standard many for the first time. It is a real highlight of the academic year at Mini Monets Art School.
Until recently Debra was Head of Art and Design at the Chalfonts Independent Grammar School where she lead her students into numerous artistic endeavours from creating scenography for school theatrical productions, T-Shirt designing enterprises and even won the National school prize for designing the Chiltern rail timetables in Spring 2018.
Debra is both a passionate art teacher and artist with over 10 international galleries in Paris, Amsterdam, New York and the Miami representing the Artbags Sculptures. Her work is exhibited in the Coca-Cola Museum in Atlanta USA. She is always visiting art shows and shares many stories about being an artist with her students which is both entertaining and inspiring to her students.
The results speak for themselves with parents and students returning year after year as they build their children's confidence and enjoyment with art.
